Youtube in Korea

Today I was revisiting some of the videos I made while I was in South Korea. I am honestly surprised by how many videos and photos I took. While making these videos took about 1 hour per editing session I know they were not of the highest quality but looking back I really tried to capture a majority of my experiences abroad.

I made my youtube channel originally to review books, so there are many book reviews on it as well and I hope to continue to make more. My Korea vlogs and videos were almost a personal diary and a memento to my family to see what I was doing and check in with me. These 50 or so videos are really hard for me to watch because I see how my life was so fun and full of activity. I know my next adventures I will be making more videos because I actually enjoy it! I hope that with practice I can actually make better-quality videos.

Now to actually remember this day. Yongma Land is an abandoned theme park I heard about pretty early on in Korea. I didn't go until mid March of 2022 with Verena my favorite German friend. (I hope she doesn't read this ahah) I think she has a great eye for photography and appreciates art so much and I have never had a friend who I can be artistic with. I asked her to go with me to Yongma Land that closed down in 2011. Instead of destroying it it is not a place that movies can rent out or photographers can pay about $10 to go in for however long they want and take pictures!

This park is next to Yongmasan (Yongma mountain) and quite close to where Korea University was. The park is in the middle of nowhere though. It was down the path from a neighborhood quite a ways then up a little bit of the mountain. It was a little spooky because no one was around but once we paid and entered the park there were about 4 people and an entire filming crew there!

There were two main areas and we go up top first, away from the other people. The park felt well upkept, but many machines were destroyed and tossed around in cool ways. I had about 100 pictures from this one day. Verena used her camera and we took pictures for about 2 hours.

There was a filming crew and once it got a little darker they started rehearsing a dance to Singing in the Rain. We stayed a but away but looked with curious eyes. We eventually had to leave because it was closing time but we got the most amazing pictures during sunset!

We walked back to the bus stop and went to a small bakery where the worker there was super kind and gave us free coffee and paistreis. He asked us all about America and Germany to practice his english. This is how many people were so kind to us during our time in Korea.
