Final trip in Korea

Updated: Apr 3, 2023

My final hoorah in Korea was my dream trip to the East coast. I hadn't seen the east coast yet in Korea. We went to the West and South most of the time so I was excited about the pristine beaches here.

We first went to the beach in the last photo, it has a famous kpop bus stop for BTS so we had to take pictures. This was actually the best beach I have ever been to in Korea. The sand was super soft and clean and barely anyone was there! We ran around and went in the water before taking the bus to our Airbnb.

Kimberly and I took a 3-hour bus ride to Gangneung and found our Airbnb. It was about 30 feet off the beach and we were happy with how clean it was even though the wood floor was squishy and made me feel like I would fall through. We just walked down the beach for a bit and checked out our surroundings. As soon as night fell many fireworks started going off. Somehow we always find fireworks when we go on trips and it's even more pretty on a beach where you can see the reflection on the water.

On the second day, we rented a double bike and went around the lake near the beach and stopped to take many pictures in the mash area and small Pavillion. We rode so fast on the double bike that we decided to walk to a pretty cafe next. It said it was a simple walk but we ended up walking along the beach and then getting into a sorta run-down neighborhood and couldn't find our way out so we had to go back to the road. We had to cross a river over the beach that took some jumping and splashing. After almost an hour and a half or walking, we got to Terrosa and it was in a pine forest next to the beach. This is where it got funny.

I ordered a delish mint lemonade but Kimberly ordered a hot honey lemon tea. We sat on the balcony and a bee buzzed over. Kimberly and I promptly stood up and ran away and the nice couple by us also was startled and the man went to hit the bee away. It landed on Kimberly's cup and then it must have smelled the honey because it started to crawl closer. The man hit it again and instead of knocking it off the cup, it went into the drink. Kimberly and I started to die laughing and covered her drink until the bee drowned in literally honey lemon tea. It died in its own product, but while this was happening another man at a different table got the waitress and got Kimberly a free drink while taking away the drink with a dead bee inside. We were crying and laughing because it was absurd and the people around us were helping us since we are scared of bees. We thanked everyone since we put on a show for them and then got on the last bus that would take us back to the Airbnb. We changed and went to the beach again after some delish food and drinking and just watched the musicians and fireworks.

I also accidentally dropped Kimberly into the ocean. Well I was carrying her and fake pretending to throw her and then I dropped her on the sand to let her down but then the tide came up super far and she got soaked including her phone and stuff so I was in trouble bad. Everything was fine she just beat me up a lot for it haha.

On our last morning we woke up at 4:45 to see the sunrise over the ocean and sadly we didn't see much because it was so cloudy, I'm happy I saw the sunrise once more in Korea anyways!

That was my final trip to Korea and one of the best ones too!
